Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy

When you become pregnant, life suddenly becomes full of things to avoid or reduce during the next nine months. The good news is that chiropractic care is a safe option to tackle back pain and maintain wellbeing during pregnancy.

During pregnancy, a woman's body goes through many changes which put pressure on the back and spine. The increased size of the abdomen increases the curve in the back, which can pull the spine out of alignment and can affect a woman's natural balance. A chiropractor can adjust the spine to ensure that the body works at an optimal level.

In addition, pelvic imbalance can reduce the room available for the developing baby. If the pelvis is misaligned, it can be difficult for the baby to get in to the best position for birth. If the baby is in a breech position or posterior position, it can be more difficult to have a natural delivery. In some instances, this can lead to an increased instance of C-sections. By restoring balance to a woman's pelvis, the possibility of a natural birth is increased as optimal fetal positioning is encouraged. An aligned pelvis can also help the mother achieve maximum flexibility, which can reduce labor time.

The Webster Technique is used by chiropractors to carry out adjustments that optimize the baby's position in the uterus. This technique can be used to prevent or correct a breech position. Ideally this technique should be used before 35 weeks. After this time, the room for the baby to move is significantly reduced.

In the later stages of pregnancy, back pain is extremely common. The back pain can often worsen as the day goes on. This is the result of the strain placed on ligaments and muscles over the course of the day. Being fit and healthy at the time of conception can have an impact on whether back pain will develop. If you are fit and healthy and continue to exercise once you have conceived, you may avoid back pain altogether. However, physiological changes in a woman's body during pregnancy can make back pain more likely.

A chiropractor can help to address back pain by ensuring a correct alignment of the spine and joints. This can ensure that the back works in an optimal manner. By correcting posture and advising you how to maintain a good posture, a chiropractor can help to alleviate strain on the joints. In addition, a chiropractor can recommend suitable exercises that will build up the supporting muscles, such as aqua-natal classes.

During pregnancy, the mother-to-be should undertake gentle stretching exercises, which encourage flexibility and increase the range of movement in the pelvic area. This will help the mother achieve an optimal birthing position during the delivery.

While every fully-qualified chiropractor can work with pregnant women, some take a special interest in working with women who want to increase their fertility and maintain their wellbeing during pregnancy. Additional qualifications are available for chiropractors who wish to specialize in this field. If you do not have a regular chiropractor and want to embark on chiropractic care while trying to conceive or during pregnancy, you may want to consider finding a specialist chiropractor.

In addition to helping a woman to enjoy her pregnancy and encourage an optimal fetal position, a chiropractor specializing in pregnancy care can also teach techniques for dealing with the pain and discomfort of delivery. This builds the mother's confidence and can assist in ensuring that a natural birth is achieved, without unnecessary medical intervention. The calmer the mother and more natural the birth experience, the less trauma will be experienced by the baby.

Top 7 Ways to Hide Stretch Marks Fast And Easy

The linear scars called stretch marks are created when skin gets stretched too much very quickly, such as when large weight gains or hormonal surges occur. That results in damage to the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous layers on the surface of the skin in the form of tearing. This causes the thin stretch mark scars that start out red or purple in color and over time fade to a silver or white shade. People who have these types of scars and want to wear clothing that is revealing or beachwear need to find out how to hide stretch marks effectively and quickly.

1. Spray Tanning: There are a few methods that can be used to make stretch marks less noticeable or conceal them completely when people are in a hurry to get rid of them. How to hide stretch marks quickly includes the use of tanning products such as bronzing powders, spray on tans and self tanning lotions.

2. Concealer: How to hide stretch marks quickly and effectively includes using a variety of liquid concealers and body makeup. Keep in mind that makeup for use on the body is different from makeup for use on the face. Makeup for the body is heavier in texture so that it can withstand sweating, friction and other wear and tear. Stretch marks are easily covered up using liquid concealers but it is necessary to closely match the tone of the skin to the shade of the concealer. A popular new way to apply makeup that can be used to cover stretch marks is air brushing with a small electrical compressor. Try to use makeup that is resistant to water.

3. Cover Up Your Body: How to hide stretch marks effectively involves choosing clothing that can either divert attention from the scars or conceal them. Swim wear that features thigh length shorts are popular at the moment for both males and females. This style of swim wear does not ride up while exercising and covers up lower body stretch marks well. For stretch marks on the chest a variety of high cut swimming suits are also quite fashionable at the moment. Every day clothing should be chosen with an eye to either distracting attention away from stretch mark areas or to covering them up.

4. Drink Water: It is essential to the elasticity and heath of the skin that the body remains fully hydrated internally and externally. Drink copious amounts of water each day and apply a holistic stretch mark moisturizing cream on the skin.

5. Skin Creams: There are a lot of natural lotions that can be used to hide and treat stretch mark scars. Cocoa butter is a well known folk remedy but other good substances for reducing and hiding stretch marks are coconut oil, jojoba oil, emu oil, shea butter and aloe vera. These creams have a long term effect on hiding stretch mark scars.

6. Stretching: Numerous types of exercises can help to firm and tone the skin so that stretch mark scars are not so noticeable. Stretching exercises are very good at breaking down scar tissue built up in stretch marks and that helps to conceal them from view.

7. Tattoos and Henna Prints: These days tattoos are a fashion statement that is gaining in popularity. A competent tattoo artist can work stretch mark scars into a design so that they are not noticeable. If a permanent tattoo seems like a step too far then a temporary henna print can be done that will last for a couple of weeks.

Ovarian Cyst Rupture Symptoms

Nowadays, a lot of women are getting worried over an ovarian cyst that appears to have exploded. But, what exactly does this mean and how is this occurrence determined? If your doctor told you your ovarian cyst explode on you, that means you most likely had an ovarian cyst rupture. Generally, this implies that a fluid-filled mass developed on your ovary; often this happens when an egg is not released at ovulation and the follicle – the sac – is filled with more and more fluid and gets bigger and bigger. Eventually, the cyst can get so large that part of the wall weakens and fluid begins to leak out; that is, the cyst ruptures.

Ordinary and ruptured ovarian cyst symptoms are more or less the same. Specific differences will only occur in the onset, the severity and the regularity of the symptoms. The most common symptoms and signs of a ruptured ovarian cyst include the following:

Irregular periods
Women, who are 20 years old and above, who are suffering from irregular periods should be concerned. Extreme pelvic pain during monthly periods can also be a sign of a ruptured ovarian cyst, especially if the bleeding is heavy.

Pain
Immediate, excruciating pain around the sides of the lower abdomen and within the pelvic region may be experienced by a woman whose cyst has ruptured. Lower back pain can also be felt.

Bladder-related problems
A ruptured ovarian cyst may cause a woman to have the urge to take a trip to the bathroom more frequently than usual. Urinating or controlling urination can also be extremely painful.

Bleeding
Unexpected, sudden bleeding outside of your menstrual cycle can be a sign of a serious problem. Heavy or light bleeding is one of the symptoms of a ruptured ovarian cyst.

Feeling generally unwell
Poor physical condition may include feeling weak, nauseous, vomiting or fainting. All these might be indications of internal bleeding.

Take note that complications may increase as the ovarian cyst that ruptured may generate various symptoms from one woman to another and be ignored for that very reason. A thorough understanding of the symptoms of ovarian cysts that "explode" can be very helpful in choosing the correct treatment before complications arise. To staying vigilant, checking a situation and having regular examinations is critical if you have an ovarian cyst condition. Hence, it is imperative that you mull over these symptoms as guidelines and not an exact diagnosis of your condition since symptoms will not necessarily follow textbook rules.

Although the above-mentioned symptoms are relatively similar to those present when ovarian cyst has not ruptured, there is no reason to ignore them and wait for them to disappear. A ruptured ovarian cyst can have potentially life-threatening complications, including hemorrhage and infection and it is much better to have your symptoms investigated and found benign than to require emergency surgery for a critical condition. Indeed, it pays off to be on the lookout for possible danger than sorry.

All About The Causes Of Vaginal Spasms

It is estimated that every one out of 10 women suffer from vaginal spasms. These spasms mostly occur due to a condition known as Vaginismus. In Vaginismus, there is an involuntary spasm of the Pubococcygeus muscles in the vagina. This muscle spasm leads to complete closure of vaginal opening and makes it almost impossible for a woman to have painless sexual intercourse. Here, we are going to take a detailed look on the various causes of Vaginismus.

Vaginal spasms can occur due to deep rooted fear: A deep rooted fear embedded in the mind of the woman about sex can lead to Vaginismus and vaginal spasms. This deep rooted fear can be due to many reasons. Some women may get this fear in their mind by hearing negative things about sex such as ‘it hurts while having sexual intercourse’, ‘sexual intercourse causes bleeding’ and so on.

Past traumatic experiences: Some past unfortunate experiences in the life of the woman may also lead to vaginal spasms or Vaginismus. These unfortunate experiences mostly include rape or sexual abuse. Due to these dreadful past experiences, a woman develops a sense of fear about having sex and, hence, she refrains from having any kind of sexual activity.

Past traumatic pelvic exams: This is also one of the leading reasons behind women experiencing vaginal spasms. Women who had gone through a painful pelvic examination may develop anxiety and will cringe even with the thought of someone touching their vagina. Such women may also develop fear with the sight of a needle or any other pointed object. This anxiety in turn leads to involuntary vaginal spasms and Vaginismus.

Exposure to negative attitudes towards sex: Exposure of a girl towards rigid, guilt-ridden and negative attitudes towards sex during childhood can also lead to vaginal spasms. This is mainly because; as the upbringing of the girl occurs in a house that is totally negative about sex, the girl also develops a negative attitude towards sex and, hence, she gets vaginal spasms or Vaginismus.

Fear of pregnancy: Some women avoid from engaging in sexual intercourse as they fear they might get pregnant. While having sexual intercourse, these women develop a sense of fear about getting pregnant and this ultimately leads to vaginal spasms and Vaginismus.

Child delivery: This is also one of the major causes of vaginal spasms, which affects married women and lead them towards developing Vaginismus. During child delivery, there is a lot of strain caused to the vagina and due to that, a woman gets muscles spasms as she attempts to have sexual intercourse after giving birth to a child.

These were some of the major causes that lead to vaginal spasms in women. Apart from these, several other causes such as venereal diseases (diseases related to external sex organs), cancer can also lead to vaginal spasms.

As you can see that the causes of vaginal spasms in Vaginismus are both physical as well as psychological. Considering this, there are also physical as well as psychological treatment options available that will help a woman to get rid of vaginal spasms and Vaginismus completely. Some of these treatment options include physical treatments such as vaginal dilating and Kegel exercises. In terms of psychological treatments, there are plenty of options. However, the ones, which help a woman to overcome vaginal spasms, include behavioral therapy, counseling and so on. Apart from these, there are also various complementary treatments available that help to treat vaginal spasms and Vaginismus. These complementary treatments mostly include massage, biofeedback and natural therapy.

Everything You Need To Understand About Pregnancy And Blood Disorder

Before we answer the question if you should be fearful or not or before we take and give advice from experts, let us first find out everything there is to know about ITP blood disorder. ITP blood disorder is a type of autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack or destroy its own platelet. We as humans are ready with what we call as anti bodies that combat viruses and microorganisms, preventing our bodies from getting infections. In the case of ITP, the very antibodies that we rely on to guard our systems are the ones attacking the platelets making their numbers lower than the normal amount necessary to keep us healthful.

What are platelets? Platelets are blood components. It is responsible for blood clot. They also help heal wounds faster. Without platelets our blood cell will not be able to clot, making us bleed excessively even on simple bruises and wounds.

Signs and symptoms

Symptoms and signs of ITP to lookout for are excessive bleeding, blood in stool and urine and regular gum and nose hemorrhage. People with ITP also have lesions and reds spots on their skin which are signs of bleeding under the surface of the skin. Both adults and children can have ITP but it is neither transmittable nor genetic, according to studies.

Should you be bothered?

Given all the facts about ITP, it is but average if you are pregnant to be concerned if you already an ITP patient given that it is a problem about blood clotting and hemorrhage. There may be concerns about delivering a healthy baby or not or delivery issues. These are all valid questions and concerns that we will try to address.

Although there are no studies that indicate women with ITP should not get pregnant, there will always be some risks involved for both the mother and the child. If you want to have a child and you know that you have ITP, consistent monitoring of the platelet count is very critical. At third trimester platelet count may drop drastically, so it is important to be observed regularly. That is why it cannot be stressed enough how crucial it is to have your platelets monitored and managed.

Can it distress the fetus or the new born? During pregnancy, the antibodies of the mother may cross the placenta. Upon entering the placenta, the antibodies may recognize that of the fetus’ platelets and can eventually damage them. Expecting women with ITP may therefore cause moderate to severe thrombocytopenia. But this situation is only impermanent. With proper diagnosis and care, thrombocytopenia in infants and kids do not have long term effects on their health. Thrombocytopenia on newborns can last up to eight weeks after birth. According to studies, women who have already given birth to children with thrombocytopenia can expect her other children to be born with the same disorder as well.

It is also worth knowing that children who develop ITP because of viral infection will heal itself as time passes by. They can recover even without medical intervention. But for your peace of mind it is still advisable to drop in on your doctor for proper management and caring tips to avoid bruising and wounds that could lead to blood loss.

How Women Can Benefit From Training With Weights

Many women consider weight training to be a masculine way of working out, however it can help many women to tone their bodies and achieve a more defined silhouette. In the past weight lifting was something that was carried out by men only; however the attitude has now changed when it comes to women wanting to use weights to help maintain a healthier lifestyle and achieve a more sculptured look.

Whilst I would not advise that women start lifting very heavy weights as this could result in large muscles and this is not really the look that women generally want. Basically women tend to want to firm their bodies and achieve a little definition therefore it would be more beneficial to use lighter weights. Women will only probably want to use dumbbells specifically for their arms and chest muscles and there are many now available on the market, that are aimed specifically at women or come in adjustable weights to allow for greater flexibility so that men and women can share their weights.

The fact that more women are now using weight training as part of their healthy lifestyle is helping to break down the barriers when it comes to weight lifting in gyms and health clubs, however if you are shy about how you train or you have time restrictions then weight training at home is also highly effective as the equipment generally used by women tend not to take up to much space and a set of dumbbells can be stored away.

Weight lifting will differ depending on the sex of the person and what their overall objectives are. For women they will probably require much lighter weights compared to men and also women may work different muscles. Whereas men will want to achieve greater muscle mass and larger biceps, typically women prefer to work on different muscles and do not wish to increase their size just their overall firmness.

Because of the different objectives of men and women this will also determine the amount and level of exercises they carry out. A woman may use weight lifting with adjustable dumbbells as a way to supplement their existing exercise regime whereas men may concentrate only on that of training with weights.

It is also worth noting that although weight training is generally thought of as a way to increase muscle mass or power it can also help in other areas. For instance it will increase endurance levels and will increase your overall fitness levels helping you to gain a healthier and slimmer you.

Breast Implants For Cancer Survivors

When a woman discovers that she has cancer, it can be a very traumatic time in her life. When she finds out that she must have her breasts removed through a mastectomy, she will be very discouraged. There is hope though for women who are victims of a mastectomy and survivors of cancer. A woman can receive breast implants to bring some of the normalcy to her life once again.

There are two main types of breast implants that are available today. There are saline and silicone breast implants. You and the doctor you choose will likely discuss the pros and cons of both products. You will also have to talk to your doctor about the placement of the implants. Finding a plastic surgeon will be a large part of your decision making process. You will want to make sure you have a doctor who does reconstructive surgery as well as breast implants. Most important of all is that they have a good reputation and are an upstanding member of the plastic surgeon community.

One mistake can really ruin the reputation of a surgeon. A lot depends on whom it is they made the mistake on, but you will want to know a surgeon's background as well as any problems they may have had during their practice. It may help you to find out if they are a part of any boards of plastic surgery. It also may be helpful to know if they are a member of any plastic surgery associations. You can also go to the internet and search for reviews of their work as a plastic surgeon.
Being a professional plastic surgeon entails much more than simply being a skilled surgeon. It entails how a surgeon deals with their staff and patients. It is important that you have a consultation appointment with any of the surgeons that you are considering to do your breast implants. You will want to know how they work with people. It is important that the surgeon be a good listener and considers your concerns. They should try to be sensitive to the position you are in and not just be factual. There are many ramifications to any plastic surgery. They should really take the time to find out what your expectations are for the surgery because with the wrong expectations, you could suffer emotionally if things do not turn out the way you had hoped. Professionalism also includes how well the office is run and how the surgeon keeps up with their outward appearance.

Once you find a surgeon who you think will meet your needs as you have reconstructive plastic surgery, make sure that you discuss the financial side of the surgery with the financial advisor at the clinic. Many plastic surgeries will not be covered on insurance, but in the case of an individual having reconstructive surgery following a mastectomy, there may be hope that your insurance will cover it. Make sure that the clinic will accept it if you can receive the help.

Effective Ways To Treat Menopause Symptoms

Menopause is it the phase of a woman's life when she stops having a monthly period. It is typically official when she has gone for one full year without having a period. But the changes leading up to this period start anywhere from two to eight years before menopause officially starts; this period is known as perimenopause. Many of the symptoms of menopause are experienced during this perimenopause stage.

Diet

One way to help alleviate symptoms of menopause is by adapting to a diet that is low in fat and high in phytoestrogens often found in soy-based foods. These phytoestrogens have an effect on the body that is similar to estrogen. Many women who have opted not to use hormone replacement therapy (HRT) have had success reducing menopause symptoms with a high-soy diet. A high-soy diet is thought to be up to 50 percent as effective as HRT.

These phytoestrogens are found in soy products like tempeh, tofu, miso, soy milk and soy powders. They are also found in flaxseed products and in lower levels in many vegetables, some cereals and seeds. Studies show about 40 grams per day can help reduce hot flashes and night sweats.

Exercise

While there aren't many studies on how exercise directly impacts menopause symptoms many feel engaging in regular physical activity can help reduce some of the symptoms. It makes sense that it can help because of all of the benefits it provides. Regular exercise helps improve sleep, improve energy levels, reduce stress, improve mood and it helps keeps blood pressure under control. Adding or maintaining a regular exercise routine may be able to lessen some of the common symptoms experienced during this time.

Reducing Stress

Finding an effective way to reduce stress during perimenopause can be important. Therapies like meditation, yoga, relaxation therapy and biofeedback have been known to help reduce menopausal symptoms for a number of women. These therapies can also help improve general health and well being.
Herbal Therapy

Some women swear by herbal therapy for menopause symptoms and there seems to be growing evidence to support this. The most common forms of herbal therapy for menopause include black cohosh, valerian, St. John's wort, evening primrose oil and dong quai.

Alternative Therapy

Both acupuncture and acupressure can help with things like menopausal hot flashes and mood swings. Both therapies work with pressure points, acupuncture uses thin needles and acupressure uses massage like stimulation of these pressure points.

Every women is slightly different so what works great for one woman may not work quite as well for another. Try some of these basic treatments for menopause symptoms to find what mix works best for you.

Giant Breasts Cause Physical And Emotional Pain

The number one performed cosmetic surgery procedure in the world for women is breast augmentation surgery. That basic fact reveals the reality that most women want larger, firmer breasts. The age range of women seeking breast implants is extreme: teenage women to women in their sixties are all purchasing breast augmentation surgery. While the majority of these women are happy with their implants, some of them insist on getting their implants removed as quickly as possible. Why would they want to have their implants removed? The answer to that question is an easy one: gigantic breasts aren't all they're cracked up to be!

Gigantic breasts take a physical and emotional toll on their owners. They are the catalyst for chronic back and neck pain as well as daily emotional stress. What people don't realize is the excess breast weight pulls on a woman's neck and lower back twenty four hours a day. If you're considering purchasing gigantic breast implants, you might want to hang a twenty five pound weight off your neck and see how much you appreciate dealing with it for a full day. Small, petite framed women would have an even more difficult time lugging the excess weight around. You might change your mind about getting jumbo breast implants after suffering through a full day with a heavy weight hanging off your neck!

Large breasted women often suffer from emotional distress. Regardless of where you're from, large breasted women are often stereotyped as sex objects by men while other women are often jealous and envious. For women with jumbo breasts, dealing with snide comments and tacky jokes all day long is a normal part of life. However, it gets tougher to ignore negative comments and jokes when they come from your own friends and family. Believe it or not, some of the more emotionally distressing comments come from friends and family that think they're poking harmless fun.

Do you ever go outside and kick a soccer ball around? Maybe you play basketball with friends on the weekends? Or perhaps you like to run a few miles a day at your local park? For a woman, athletic activities of any sort become increasingly difficult in direct correlation with the size of her breasts. The extra weight causes early fatigue and sometimes pain. Any sport that requires participants to sprint or run for extended lengths of time is very difficult for women that have been blessed with abnormally large breasts.

If you're struggling with the day to day, negative effects associated with having large breasts, there is a solution. The solution for jumbo breasts is a breast reduction procedure. The goal of breast reduction surgery is to dramatically reduce a woman's breast size by cutting out excess fat and glandular tissue from the breasts. Excess skin will also be removed. Breast size can be reduced significantly with the surgery; when a woman wakes up from her breast reduction surgery, she will immediately feel the difference in the size of her chest. Women who undergo breast reduction surgery are often the happiest of all breast enhancement surgery patients because they immediately feel a positive change in their life.
Any competent breast enhancement specialist can perform the procedure. You should try to find a surgeon that is board certified and has extensive experience in breast reduction. Additionally, it's recommended that you join online user groups and forums that discuss plastic surgery procedures. You will find women on those forums that have already experienced the type of plastic surgery you might be considering. You would be well advised to discuss your surgery intentions with them and get their honest, unbiased opinions. A good starting point for finding a surgeon would be to visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeon's website and perform a surgeon search through their online database.

While breast augmentation surgery is not covered by medical insurance, breast reduction surgery is often covered. The reason why is because the surgery is considered preventive. Women that have lived with gigantic breasts for many years often suffer back and neck complications as a result. Thus, breast reduction is a form of preventive medicine.

Are you interested in reducing your breast size? If so, then you should speak with a licensed plastic surgeon that specializes in breast reduction surgery. Contact a local plastic surgeon today and schedule your initial consultation.

Taking Care Of Women's Issues

Being a woman can be such a toilsome thing, particularly when there are so many little things that we have to deal with, but here are some ways to take care of yourself. Once a month we endure agonizing cramps, bloating, and emotional moodswings that can really take a toll on oneself and also make others around you feel like you have gone crazy. In fact, as if the aching, tearing pain of cramps wasn't enough, the psychological effects seem to be just as trying, as you swing from being so sad to see a man eating lettuce to getting searing mad when your friend forgets to say hello to you and it just makes you all over the place till you feel you will go mad from the effort of trying to stay calm, and then you feel bloated and heavy and lethargic and in a miserable state of pain.

One way to reduce this pain is to take some medication and to make sure that you take it right when the pain starts so that you can tackle it right from the get go and you will not be stuck with a lot of misery and pain all the while. You can try your best to make sure that you do your best to take the medication right at the start of the pain coming so that you can get the best effects because sometimes if you wait too long the medicine will not be able to take effect and you will have to endure some long bouts of pain for a while.

Also eating some chocolate can help because of the content of the cocoa beans and you can feel some relief, too, psychologically as chocolate has been known to induce happiness and make a person feel better. When you feel your mood swinging, try to stay calm and do things that will help you feel a little better like being around people you love and care about and letting them listen to you and make you feel a little better about what you are enduring and going through. This might help you get through what you are going through a little easier and you can figure out how to let them help you, as well.
And as far as the other issues go, you can handle them with ease because being a woman is all about being strong in the face of calamities. One thing that often affects the hearts of many women are the trials they endure from cruel men. This can often cause low self esteem and can make a woman feel badly about herself after a time or two. Well remember to never let a man get you down, just like you can not let cramps get the best of you, because there is a medication for both things, men and cramps, and that is time, just give it some time and after a while you will see that neither hurt you anymore and you do not have to feel badly about yourself because it is a natural part of life. And once it passes, better things will come.

- To have a good night's sleep is important to do sports. A quick walk for your neighborhood a couple of hours before falling asleep can help to tire your body. It is recommended that you take a shower or a hot bath just before bedtime.

It is common for the lack of adequate rest cause fatigue and sleepiness during the day and also makes it very difficult for the person paying attention at work, school or college.

Insomnia is the difficulty that a person suffer in sleeping or keeping asleep, besides being a common problem. Sleep disorders are more common than one might think. Specifically, sleeping more than necessary may increase by 0.2 BMI, while the lack of sleep increases to 1.4, promoting obesity and overweight.

- Improve memory and creativity. Sleep helps consolidate memory, but also to reorganize the information and extract the relevant data, according to a recent study by the University of Notre Dame (USA). According to the authors, thus favoring the dream we produce new and more creative ideas.

Types Of Breast Implants, Risks And Problems

Breast Implants - The Four Billion Dollar Question (Problems Associated With Malfunctioning Implants and Other Problems)Women get breast implant surgery done to enhance the size and shape of the breasts for cosmetic reasons. The procedure has become more refined now with improvements in the surgical methods and technology. It is normally performed with a breast lift for better outcome. These implants come in various sizes and shapes to choose from. There are many factors involved in selecting the right type of implant for yourself such as shape, size, positioning, texture, personal anatomy and other such factors.

There are two types of breast implants namely silicone gel filed implants and saline filled implants. Silicone gel implants have a silicone shell which is filled with silicone gel and saline implants have silicone shell filled with sterile saline liquid. Saline breast implants are considered better because if it gets ruptured, the saline can be dissolved by the body. But the disadvantage of the saline implant is that it is more likely to show ripples through the skin.

It is important to choose the right surgeon to perform this procedure; else one can suffer from breast implants problems. The surgeon should be trained and experienced in this area and fulfils the standard of safety in the patient. But as with any surgical procedure, there is always a risk and a chance of something going wrong. Apart from the complications of infections, scarring, bruising, changes in sensations, breast implants problems include certain issues that are unique to this procedure. The saline and silicone implants have specific risks associated with them respectively. For this implantation procedure, the woman will be given general anesthesia and an incision will be made depending on the type of implant and body. Then the implant is inserted and placed in proper position. The incisions are closed and this procedure may not take more than a couple of hours. The risks and breast implants problems that can occur are as follows:
1. Pain in breast
2. Scarring
3. Infection
4. Changes in sensation in nipples
5. Bleeding
6. Formation of scar tissue
7. Hardening in the area around the implant
8. Problem with shape and size of the implants that is asymmetrical breasts.
9. Rupture and leak.
10. Breastfeeding may get difficult
11. Double bubble: Sometimes the implant may shift below the fold creating a line at the bottom of the breast.

If the saline implant gets ruptured, the saline which is leaked can be dissolved and absorbed by the body. When a saline implant gets ruptured, it will deflate but silicone implant may have silent ruptures with no visible symptoms. The silicone implant when ruptured may leak the silicone inside the shell or outside the shell. If you get a silicone implant, you will have to get an MRI scan after 3 years of the implant and then after 2 years to check for ruptures. Also having an implant can make mammogram tests difficult to conduct. Breast implants problems also include problems in breastfeeding. These implants do not last forever and need to be replaced if there are complications present or if the shape and size of the breasts change with time. To avoid breast implants problems, it is important to select the right surgeon with right experience.

Ways To Keep Your Skin Looking Young

Forever Young: The Science of Nutrigenomics for Glowing, Wrinkle-Free Skin and Radiant Health at Every AgeThis outer layer of your body plays a very important role in keeping your entire system healthy. Often overlooked your skin is the very first line of defense for your body and as a result it is an organ that needs caring for. Many people think nothing of abusing their skin or not taking care of it and perhaps one of the biggest infractions that individuals cause to their skin is over baking it.

Basking in the sun may seem like a lot of fun and some people just love to sit out in the sun, rub baby oil all over themselves, and then bake for hours at a time every day. Initially they will tell you that this makes them look good, nice and tan, however over time this insane ritual can really cause major health issues especially in the form of skin cancer.

Skin cancer can develop on anybody although the more time somebody stays in the sun the better the chances that they are going to come across some form of skin issue during their lifetime and while many believe that tanning beds present a safe alternative to natural sunlight for those that like to brown themselves this has not yet been validated. A lot of people find that reasonable amounts of natural sunlight while wearing even a moderate level of sunscreen can help to prevent the many medical issues that can arise from over exposure to the sun's rays.

Now there are even sun tanning alternate options in the form of various bronzers and lotions for individuals who want to enjoy that summertime bronze look all year round without having to expose themselves to the sun's harmful rays. It is an easy alternative for those wanting to tan.
Tanning could cause the skin to become leather like and tanning over an extended period of time doesn't just place you at higher risk for skin cancer but can also cause your skin to become less attractive. One of the advantages of nice looking skin is that it is flexible and over tanned skin tends not only to become tough and dry but also tends to make someone look more wrinkly and older.

Your skin is your very first line of defense so you should definitely treat it with respect and it'll help keep you safe from disease and infection for years to come. Rubbing lotion on your skin and making use of moisturizers can help to keep the skin pliable and using sunscreen daily can help protect you from the sun's harmful UV rays that could breakdown your body's main defense against the outside world.

Protect Your Bones

Bones: The Complete Fifth SeasonAbout half of all women of the age of fifty will experience a severe bone breakage due to osteoporosis, the fragile condition of their thin bones will cause them to have a fall and break their hip or wrist or even spine bones. Whenever the body can’t make a new bone or when too much old bone is taken by the body, then osteoporosis is the awful result. Usually when you infuse your body with calcium and phosphate you are giving your body a fighting chance to produce those necessary bones but when your body does not have enough of either, you will suffer and new bones won’t be made and weak brittle ones will be left in their place.

Thus, it will be no surprise when a slight fall or trip lands you to the hospital with a fractured hip. Or, sometimes the bones get so brittle that you will have them break even when no fall or injury occurs! This occurs over a span of many years, but what you do now affects the results that will happen in forty years and the fate that you will enjoy as an old woman. Usually when estrogen drops during menopause, that is the prime time for it to set in and when testosterone drops for men, the same can be said. Men have till age 70 till they are at high risk, but women are already at risk by age 50.
Sometimes when an elderly woman is confined to the bed, she will develop it faster or if she has arthritis, she is a candidate. Also if a woman has no periods for a long while, she might be at greater risk. Other factors include alcohol consumption and a family history of it, as well as hormone treatments for various cancers. A low body weight and too little calcium in the overall dietary intake will contribute as well as if you are a smoker. When you first get it, there are no symptoms at all to show or let you know that you have it, however by the later stages of it, it will show itself in a number of ways. Such as feeling a pain in your bones, a tenderness when you move or are touched, that will tell you you might have it. Also if you experience fractures when barely anything happened, that is also a sign of weak malnourished bones. Also if you begin to shrink and lose about six inches and grow short and small, and experience back pain because your spine bones are fractured or neck pain from the same account, that is also the result of the later stages of the condition.

Usually a doctor will do some bone mineral density testing to determine if you have the condition or some spine CT that can do the same thing. Sometimes you might need a hip x-ray or some other measure. The treatment usually aims to control the pain that is caused by having this as well as stop or slow down the amount of bone loss. Also, medicine will be given to strengthen the bones and life changes will be made to minimize the chance of falling down.

Heartburn With Pregnancy Can Be Controlled

Mommy's Bliss Pregnancy Heartburn Comfort, Smooth Berry Flavor, 80-Count Chewable Tablets (Pack of 2)Heartburn with pregnancy unfortunately goes hand in hand. Although uncomfortable, the good news is that heartburn and acid reflux are common conditions experienced during pregnancy.

Heartburn is a serious problem and a common condition that affects millions of people on a daily basis. Of course, heartburn has nothing to do with the heart. It's name is associated with the area of the body from which discomfort most commonly occurs.

Heartburn is a digestive malady in which stomach acid irritates the esophagus causing you to feel a burning sensation which starts in the stomach and into the chest.

To further complicate matters heartburn can escalate into a condition known as acid reflux. That's when stomach acid is regurgitated into the throat and mouth resulting in burning in the throat and a sour and bitter taste in the mouth.

During your pregnancy, placenta produces a hormone called progesterone which causes the smooth muscles of the uterus to relax. In turn, progesterone also relaxes the valve that leads from the esophagus into the stomach causing gastric acids to slip back up into the esophagus resulting in acid reflux and heartburn.

Progesterone also slows down your normal digestive processes furthering your discomfort. It’s just one more hormonal change that your body must endure due to pregnancy.

As your pregnancy progresses, your growing baby crowds your abdominal cavity, pushing the stomach acids back up into the esophagus. In other words you've got several contributory factors going on that are only present when pregnant. Therefore, heartburn with pregnancy is the norm and not the exception to the rule.

Mast women don't experience heartburn and reflux problems until the second half of their pregnancy. This discomfort is not normally constant but comes and goes until your baby is born.

Dealing with heartburn with pregnancy is much the same as for heartburn and reflux outside pregnancy. Obviously, you should be extra careful with what you put into your body to cope with the problem. As with all medications you should check with your doctor.

One of the most helpful and simple ways of keeping your heartburn under control is to drink plenty of water. Water serves to dilute gastric acid and flush it from your system.

You will also find it beneficial to avoid large meals. 6 small meals are preferable to 3 large meals. It is also important to avoid spicy or acidic food. Caffeinated and carbonated beverages are also problematic. The consumption of alcohol is also a no-no, not only for heartburn, but also for the well-being of your baby.
Additionally, be careful to avoid fried and fatty foods. These foods are naturally hard to digest and your pregnancy will make digestion even more difficult.

Stress stimulates the production of stomach acid. Of course, stress is a natural part of pregnancy but avoid external stressors as much as possible.

Heartburn and reflux often occur after you have gone to bed. To avoid this problem consume your last meal at least 2 to 3 hours prior to bedtime. If the problem persists elevate your head with extra pillows. The basic idea is to make gravity work for you by keeping stomach acid in the stomach.

Heartburn with pregnancy is normal but it can be controlled. Just remember to share your heartburn related concerns with your doctor.
